Waddington Bay, Bonwick Island

We motored out into Spring Channel and then sailed for just over an hour up Retreat Passage to Waddington Bay.  Winds were west at 15 knots for a beam reach up the passage. We were happy to turn the motor off and finally enjoy some quiet time. It seems the weather has moderated and calmer conditions will be with us for several days.

Entering Waddington was a combination of charts, GPS and pilotage. We wound our way thru the various islets and arrived at the bay early afternoon. There were only 3 other vessels anchored in the middle of the bay. We went up to the head of the bay and dropped anchor in a very still, very private spot. It was a great location, no wind and very flat water. We slept very well….glad the winds were finally down.

The following morning Paul had a large Dungeness crab in the trap. We cooked him up before departure for Echo Bay.

Just outside the bay while on a dinghy excursion.

We nearly had the bay to ourselves.
