Blind Channel Resort - July 2, 2011

We had a break in the weather this morning, so we made a dash for Blind Channel.  It was about 15 miles up and around the island.  The route took us back out into Johnstone Strait before turning up into Mayne Passage and then Blind Channel (so called because you can't see it until you are almost passed it).

We are at the marina, so have shore power and the use of our heat pump to help keep the moisture inside the boat down.  After our arrival, we took a hike up the hill to an 800 year old cedar.  It is hard to imagine that at the turn of the century the entire forest would have been full of these majestic trees before logging took its toll.

Tomorrow we are heading further north and west.  Check out the map to see our plan.
