Moore Bay, BC Mainland

We motored up Penphrase Passage to Kingcome Inlet. The weather has been great. We entered the protected inlet with an idea of the “perfect” anchorage. As we came around Gregory Island we saw two motor vessels in the spot we wanted. At first we were quite disappointed; however, things had been going our way all morning.  Goody! They were just pulling anchor and leaving as we approached. We were able to have the secluded bay all to ourselves.

We took a dinghy ride thru the shallow cut to Shawl Bay on the other side of Gregory Island. The marina is made up of some floating homes, an art gallery, bakery and large covered deck for making happy with other visitors. We met a couple at the bakery that were dockmates of Ann and Mark on s/v True Blue (from our dock in Seattle) before they moved from Shilshole. This couple was working in the bakery and preparing to take their ketch around Vancouver Island and then south to Mexico. Shawl Bay was very cool, funky and the bakery supplied us with a six pack of cinnamon buns…..

Paul spent the afternoon doing some maintenance items and the furry crew and I hung out on deck. The weather today has been almost perfect. The temps allowed us to shower on deck, we have the whole bay to ourselves and there is absolutely no noise pollution from anyone or anything. We are not sure if we will leave for the Simoom harbour tomorrow or spend another day here.

Photos to come after I complete an upload.  The wifi signal is strong, but the speed is snail like.

OK, here are some photos, maybe?  Or we may have to wait until tomorrow:
