Relaxing in Port Townsend

While we thought our two night stay in Port Townsend would allow us an opportunity to relax and get into the cruising mode, we found very little time to just hang out and chill.  But, as you can see by late afternoon after all the work was done and under clearing and sunny skies, we did find some time to contemplate our upcoming adventure.

Most of our day in port was devoted to meeting with Carol Hasse of Port Townsend Sails to get the boat measured for new sails.  It was quite the process, as all of the sail had to be pulled down.  There were lines everywhere and sails draped over every inch of the boat.  The next step is to bring the entire sail inventory to the loft in October when we return from our trip.  At that time, they will evaluate each sail, putting them under stress, looking for weak spots and general condition.  We won't know until then if we will need any new sails or if any of the existing sails can be repaired, if needed.
