We motored to Pierre's at Echo Bay. The sun was out and Paul was wearing shorts. Maybe summer has finally arrived. We passed a boat coming into Waddington. The lady the bow sounded thrilled with the weather too.
After fueling at the dock we were advised that the marina was having a pig roast that night. They had room for us if we wanted to stay. The last time we actually ate out was in Madiera Park…..4+ weeks ago. I got the slip assignment and we stayed the night. The pig roast was delicious!!! Pierre and his wife Tova and Jerome are super hosts. The family style dinner was a lot of fun and everyone was very friendly. The stay allowed us the opportunity to shower, do laundry and refill the water tanks. The water here is brown from the cedar tannins. I treated the tanks with bleach to be cautious.
The next morning we hiked to the homestead of Billy Proctor, a Raincoast Legend, author and curator of his own museum. I purchased “Full Moon, Flood Tide”, a book he wrote, and at the time of this post have just about finished it. It was a truly fascinating read. The stay at Echo and the visit to Billy Proctor’s were special.
