We negotiated the channel without any problems at all. For our San Francisco sailing friend, the channel was about the same as going up San Rafael Channel. The current and wind played a role, but no worries for us. The anchor spot was at Potts Lagoon, a well protected muddy bottomed bay with good wind protection. We had swung by a popular moorage site to check it out before heading to Potts. The detour proved that anchoring for the night was the better choice….but it did mean we got into the anchorage later than we had hoped. The bay was full of boats by the time we arrived. I think the cruising season has begun. We snaked our way around anchor chains, dinghies and crab pots to a site at the head of the bay. Dropping anchor we said hello to the sailboat off our stern, and told ourselves we had to get into our nightly spot much earlier.
