We departed Forward Bay and cleared Whirlpool Rapids without any trouble…The joys of slack water! The winds were building in Johnstone Strait and we were receiving 18-20 in Chancellor Channel. We reefed the main and had a great sail down the channel to Cordero. The Rapids at Greene Point were not ready to transit for several hours so we took advantage of the wind to play and practice some maneuvers. We did several hove-tos and man over board to see how Talos IV would behave in moderate winds. We finally had to head to Greene Point so sails were dropped and the play time was done.
Greene Point was no problem. Janet always gets a little tweeky waiting for the slack but otherwise things were very textbook smooth. On the other side of the rapids we ducked into a small bight behind some islets to spend the night at anchor.
